BY AIRPLANE TO AND FROM ENGLAND
PROPOSED SERVICES N.Z. AND AUSTRALIA DEMONSTRATION IN 1930 By Cable. —Press Association.—Copyright Reed. 11.35 a.m. PERTH, To-day. The special mission from the British Air Ministry which is to investigate Australian and New Zealand conditions has arrived in Australia. The party comprises Group-Captain Fellowes, Flight-Lieutenant Nixon and Mr. M. A. Giblett, superintendent of the airship section of the British Meteorological Office. The mission is concerned with Britain’s experimental programme for the construction of airships designed to secure quicker intercommunication between the Dominions and the Mother Country. The party said it is probable that demonstration flights to Australia and New Zealand will take place in 1930. It should be possible to plan a time-table on the assumption that the regular time of passing between Australia and England would be 11 days.—A .and N.Z.
