HENDERSON BOWLERS
The annual meeting of the Henderson Bowling Club was presided over by Mr. W. T. Leighton. The president said the club had a very successful year and he congratulated the members upon possessing one of the finest greens in the Auckland district. The report showed the club had been playing for seven months and its members numbered 40. Debentures to the value of £lßl had been issued, of which £l7B 10s had been paid up. The receipts from all sources were £ 331 13s 6d and the expenses £323 14s lOd, leaving a credit balance of £ 7 18s Bd. The liabilities of the club were £719 17s sd, and the assets £869 12s 4d, showing a balance of assets over liabilities of £149 14s lid. Mr. R. Higginbotham, who won the first-year champion singles, was presented with a trophy and was congratulated upon his success. It was decided the ministers of the local churches should be elected honorary members of the club, and the late president, Rev. F. J. Ustyer,.was elected a life member. The following officers were elected: President, Mr. W. T. R. Leighton; vicepresidents, Messrs* H. Norcross and S. Y. Canton; secretary and treasurer, Mr. H. I. Chandler; green superintendent, Mr. H. A. Buscombe; match committee: Messrs. Canton, Buscombe and A. R. Park; executive committee, Messrs. C. F. Brookes, R. Higginbotham, F. I. McKay, W. Moss and W. F. Massey; social committee, Messrs. *L. Radley, I. E. Scott, L. G. Bridson, J. Pickering and A. C. Schramm.
