CHEAP DELIVERY
An English motorist writes an interesting letter to a friend here, discussing the development of the motor industry. Referring to the small car, he says; A friend of mine has just returned after a long absence in New Zealand to take up his residence in rather a small town. Always a keen motorist, he has been bubbling over with petrol talk ever since he arrived in England. Asked what struck him most, he did not enlarge on the Seagrave record or the cheapness of cars, or the power ot our tiny engines, or the vast increase in women owners, or the apaazing performance of small engines. He must end his days on not too large a pension, and his bungalow in consequence is well out in an undeveloped suburb. He is principally impressed by the speed and frequency with which his tradespeople deliver his small orders, and the low cost of this generous service as exemplified m the reasonable price of the goods supplied. The goods he purchases often reach his door before he and his wife have finished their shopping rounds. And the largest vehicle used by his tradesP?°P le JCr transport is a Trojan van. Most of his stuff is ferried from the t° his door in 7 h.p.
