SUMMARY OF THE GAME

AUR special representative with w the New Zealand team writes: “The Canadians concentrated chiefly on the inside forwards. The gathering of the New Zealand front line was rather slow, and their work was persistently robbed by speedy defence on the part of the Mapl« Leafers. The New Zealand wings made many fine runs, both goals resulting from good crosses, but most shots were repulsed by Tait’s brilliant keeping. The kicking of the Canadians and their trapping on the run was very good, and taxed the New Zealand defences to their utmost. Anderson was particularly good, and Jones the best of the half-back line. Canada held an advantage in the height of its forwards, and Archibald’s heading was very clever, but McDougali was alert. The light New Zealand forwards had a strenuous time against the fast, heavy Canadian backs.”
