Re-organisation of Power Board
MEMBER RESIGNS Having attended only one meeting of the Waitemata Electric Power Board. Mr. J. D. Morison has notified the board by telegram that he wishes to resign as he has disposed of all his interests in the district. When in compliance with law the telegram is confirmed by letter the boroughs of Northcote, Takapuna and Birkenhead, which Mr. Morison represents, will nominate another member. Mr. Morison’s resignation brought up the question of the. constitution of the board and the reorganisation which will take place next year. “It is going tp be a serious matter.” said the chairman. Mr. J. W. Hayden, dealing with the reconstitution of the board. Each member represents a population of 3,000, and a million pounds capital value. New Lynn would be entitled to a full member when the reorganisu tion took place in March next. The localities would be represented: Waitemata Countv Council, three members: Birkenhead, one; Takapuna, two; Devonport., three. This would leave two members to be divided between other districts and on a population basis New Lynn would be entitled as a right to a full member. The road boards and boroughs were growing more rapidly than the county.
