SOUTH AFRICAN SYSTEM By Cable.—Press Associu tion Copyright LONDON. Saturday. The Marconi Company states that the tests of the South African beam wireless service have been completed. The contract calls for a service of 11 hours a day, but the tests showed that with two wave lengths—l 6 metres in daylight and 33 metres in the darkness —and with a modification of the transmitter and aerial feeder systems, communication outward was possible for 22 hours, and inward-’.nr 20 hours. —A. and N.Z.
