INTERNATIONAL BOXING CLASH
AUSTRALIA V. NEW ZEALAND TO-NIGHT’S ATTRACTIONS Fighters all, boys who can take a punch and return it with interest, is the description applied to the boxing quartette which will hold the stage at the Auckland Town Hall to-night by a hard-headed local trainer, who has seen all the contestants in action. The two Aucklanders, Mat Hatton and Jim Broadioot, have always gi\en the “fans” their money’s worth. Hatton is a fast, scientific fighter with a punch, and one of the few men who have pinned the tricky and elusive Purdy down to a points’ decision. Broadfoot comes of a fighting family, and the hotter the pace, the better he likes it. Hatton’s opponent is Jack Delaney, who has impressed in Wellington as a shifty and aggressive two-handed fighter. Ern Mac, who has been training in Henry Donovan’s gym., is held in high regard by those who have seen him in his training work-outs, and Henry Donovan, who knows a good ’un when lie sees one, is of the opinion that he will give Broadfoot a great tussle from start to finish. Both these fighters are Australians. It will be Australia v. New Zealand at the Town Hall on Monday night, and may the best men win.
