BOON TO THE BLIND

FREE WIRELESS LICENSES GOVERNMENT’S GIFT wireless licenses to all institutions for the blind, and to all nonsighted persons who are heads of households, are now given by the Government. The trustees of the Jubilee Institute for the Blind have received information from their advisory committee in Christchurch that, as a result of an interview between its deputychairman, Mr. H. Holland. M.P.. and the Prime Minister, the Government has generously agreed to grant free listening-in licences. This concession came into force on May 16, and will be greatly appreciated by blind people, to whom wireless is the greatest boon of modern times.
