A Solicitor’s Error
MAORI’S LOST HERITAGE PETITION TO PARLIAMENT (THE SUN’S Parliamentary Reporter.') WELLINGTON, Saturday. When in 1875 a Maori named Matiri Toha wished to give a life interest in certain land at Mangere to Hone Kawhena a mistake was made and a solicitor concerned • made an absolute conveyance of the property with the result that Tepaea Paro, of Mangere, who was to receive the property upon the death of Hone, was deprived of his interest. Instructions were issued for a correction, but these were never executed. Now Paro is petitioning Parliament to have the matter inquired into.
