NGAROMA AGAIN
MORE QUESTIONS IN HOUSE
(From Our Resident Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, Friday.
The Government was again reminded to-day of the settlers difficulties at Ngaroma. Mr. A. Harris (Waiteroata) gave notice in the House to ask for a commission to make exhaustive inquiries into the state of things there, the commission to be presided over by a Judge of the Supreme Court. The order of reference suggested by Mr. Harris includes the questions; (1) Whether Ngaroma is suitable for settlement;
(2) Whether bush sickness is prevalent there and if so whether the Lands Department aware of It before the block became settled; (3) Whether the settlers have suffered undue hardship and if they were entitled to compensation; if so to -what extent; and finally to report upon the best method of settling the block*
