BILLY AND BETTY

The most popular combination at the recent trotting fixture at Alexandra Park was the veteran reinsman W. Orange and the square gaited mare Betty Moko. They thoroughly understood each other and there was a co-operation between the pair that led to a dual success. Both driver and trotter are general favourites with the sporting public and the victories were popularly received. “Billy” Orange has two Auckland Cup victories to his credit and is still handling the ribbons in a manner that suggests the veteran may again be behind a Cup winner. Betty Moko’s recent form points to her reaching the highest rung of the trotting ladder next Season.
