AUCKLAND COUNCIL MEETS The executive of the Auckland Fruit Growers’ Council met yesterday. Mr. S. W. House presiding. It was decided that a conference of retailers, brokers and growers should be held to attempt to reach a decision. In response to a letter from a Timaru milling firm, Mr. H. S. Izard remarked that possibly in the future the New Zealand timber industry would supply much of the case tjmber for the fruit industry. The injury done to the trade from the marketing of uncured lemons was commented on, and it was suggested that the low prices being obtained tended, to discourage growers from the trouble of firing their lemons.
