PAULINE, TOO!
RANKS OF CONTRACTBREAKERS
Pauline Starke has joined the ranks of contract-breakers. She folded her make-up kit and departed recently for New York to play a lead in a Robert Kane? production. Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer is said to have raised no objection to her leaving. Miss Starke has had a hard roto hoe in pictures. She started work years ago at the old Fine Arts-Triangle Studio under direction of D. W. Griffith, but only recently achieved roles of any considerable consequence. Her most outstanding performance was in “Salvation Nell.”
Carmel Myers, too, is gone from the Metro lot. Her contract expired a few days ago and Miss Myers has nounced her intention of going to Europe.
