London Hemp Values. —Under date June 22, the London office of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Company cabled as follow: Hemp, good, fair, £37 10s; high point, fair, £35 10s; low fair, £ 34.
Public Trust Activities. —The following resume of Public Trust operations for the month of May is supplied by the Prime Minister:—The amount paid out in settlement of new loans was £206,738. The new loans granted amounted to £156.130, making the total of new loans on hand awaiting completion £647,500. In addition, loans offered being less than the full advances applied for amount to £164,982, making a grand total of £812,482. Applications for further loans amounting to £44.283 are receiving consideration. New estates of a total value of £447,545 were reported and accepted for administration. A further addition of 510 wills was made to those held by the office for safe custody on behalf of living testators, and the total is now 54,278.
