RAID AT ASHBURTON
GAMING-HOUSE OWNER FINED £75 FOR THE TREASURY Press Association. ASHBURTON, Friday. At the Ashburton Police Court this morning, Timothy Kissane was charged, as an outcome of a police raid on June 3, with knowingly and wilfully permitting Basil Muller to use his premises as a common gaming house. He pleaded guilty and was fined £25, half of which he was ordered to pay within a fortnight, and the remainder in a month's time, Muller was fined £SO at a previous sitting for assisting in the conduct of the house.
