MOUNT EDEN BOWLING CLUB
The annual meeting: of the Mount Eden Bowling Club was held on Thursday evening, there being a large attendance. In the absence of the president, Mr. R. E. Rudman, through illness, Mr. L. Joll, vice-president, presided.
The chairman presented the prizes as follows: —Champion, J. H. Trayes, runner-up, H. Walton; junior champion, F. J. Oatridge; runner-up. W. E. Vivian; champion pairs, Rintoul and Turner; runners-up, Shirriffs and Fraser; handicap pairs, Chambers and Shirriffs; runners-up, Murray and Bourke; handicap singles. J. H. Trayes; runner-up, L. Joll; percentage fours, De lam ore, Hayman, Rudman, A. Nairn, runners-up, Dignan, Ross, Faram, Middleton.
The following officers were elected: Patron, Mr. O. Nicholson; president, Mr. H. Walton; vice-president, Mr. R. E. Rudman lion, secretary, Mr. Jas. Smith; hon. treasurer, Mr. W. Bigelow; management committee, Messrs. Bourke, Gill, Fraser, Marshall and Jas. Smith; match committee, Messrs. Findlay, Turner and Marshall; sole selector, Mr. D. C- Fraser; auditor, Mr. H. Gribble; first-year coaches, Messrs. H. Surman and H. O. Brown; reporter. Mr. Bruce Smith: refreshment committee, Messrs. T. Nairn, Taylor and Middleton; delegates to centre, Messrs. Joll, Findlay and Fraser; tournament committee, Mr. D. C. Fraser; with power to add.
A resolution was carried in favour of the principle of daylight saving. The sum of £33 was donated during the evening.
