MOSGIEL GIRL KILLED

CROSSING FATALITY DRAGGED FORTY YARDS Press Association. DUNEDIN. Thursday. When crossing the railway line at Mosgiel last evening. Miss Jean Rennie, aged 23, at about 6.15 p.m. was struck by the engine of an outgoing train from Dunedin and killed instantly. The enginedriver states that he did not see anyone on the line, but that when the train was about a-quarter of a mile from the station the engine crew felt a bump, caused by an impact. When the train reached Mosgiel. blood was found on the front of the engine, a search was made, and the body of the young woman who had apparently been dragged about 40 yards, was found beside the line. Miss Rennie was the daughter of a superannuated railway employee.
