HAMILTON SPEEDSTER

A SUBSTANTIAL FINE WARNING TO OTHERS (From Our Oxen Correspondent.) HAMILTON, To-day. “This must be stopped, and I’m going to stop him for three months,” commented Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., when Leslie McCallum appeared on four charges, involving two of excessive speed, cutting a corner, and dangerous driving. The inspector stated that defendant swept round a corner at 25 miles an hour on a night when there was a thick fog. Mr. Wilson commented on the serious circumstances, and imposed two fines of £5 and £3. with costs, in addition suspending defendant’s driving licence for three months. He hoped this would have a salutary effect on other offenders.
