WORK IN KAIPARA

Work is being pushed ahead in the Pukehuia and Kirikopuni districts, where the Public Works Department has 400 men engaged. To the south of Pukehuia the men are engaged metalling roads to the station and settlers’ roads. Work is also proceeding on Wairoa bridge. The steel superstructure is being assembled, and huge piles of 60ft. to 100 ft. driven to carry the approach to the bridge.
