TROWERN MAKES GOOD
IJ ARD on the heels of Nelson McKnight’s success in Brisbane where he annexed the; Queensland title, comes word that Trowern has made good in his first fight at the Sydney Stadium, that temple of pugilistic fame, which is the Mecca to which every budding Fitzsimmons or Murphy of the present day directs his gaze. “Many come, but few are chosen” to provide entertainment for the leather-lunged bleachers at Rushcutters’ Bay, and once a boy gets a match at the Stadium, it is his great chance to make good. After cleaning up Billie Chambers at Leichardt Stadium, where he met his Waterloo at the hands of Norky Fowler this time last year, Trowern got his chance in a mid-week attraction at Sydney fight headquarters on Wednesday night, and judging by the showing he put up, more matches should come hjs way in the land of the kangaroo.
