HANDWRITING PROBLEM DELEGATES’ DECISION That cursive writing be made a. compulsory subject in all standards, was a remit adopted by the annual meeting of delegates to the Auckland School Committees’ Association last night. One delegate said that the changing from script to cursive styles meant that the pupil was unable to use either properly. The Rev. F. Greenwood expressed an opinion that present-day handwriting was disgraceful. The president, Mr. G. Brownlee, mentioned that last year 200 business houses and institutions were circularised in reference to script and cursive writing, over 90 per cent, favoured cursive.
