TOFUA AT SUVA. —Cable advice received by the Union Company states that the Island passenger steamer Tofua arrived at Suva yesterday l;rom Auckland and sails at midnight tonight for Tonga and Samoa. WAIHEMO COMING. —From Pacific Coast ports, the Union Company’s Waihemo was to leave Apia (Samoa) for Auckland, Lyttelton, Timaru, Dunedin, Bluff, and New Plymouth yesterday. She is expected here about June 30. KAIWARRA FOR NEWCASTLE. — On her return trip to Newcastle where she will load again for New Zealand, the Union Company advises that they hope to dispatch tha* steamer Kaiwarra from Auckland next Monday. TEKOA’S PROGRAMME. —The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the steamer Tekoa, which sailed yesterday for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and New Plymouth, will on completion of her discharge of Liverpool cargo load in the South, and then return to Auckland about July 22 to lift a quantity of cargo. She will be finally dispatched from Wellington on August 6 for London, via Panama. MATAKANA TO LOAD. —Due at New Plymouth on Sunday from Australia, the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company advises that the steamer Matakana will commence loading there and will later fill up at Wellington, Timaru, and Port Chalmers. She is expected to clear the Otago port on July 14 for London, via Montevideo and Teneriffe.
HAGGERSGATE TO COMPLETE. — To complete her discharge of Nauru phosphates the steamer Haggersgate, which is unloading at Auckland to the agency of Henderson and Macfarlane, will leave to-morrow at noon for New Plymouth. From the Taranaki port the vessel will proceed to Newcastle for bunkers.
WAIRUNA REPORTED. —En route from Sydney, via Fiji and Fanning Island, the Union Company’s steamer Wairuna arrived at Suva yesterday and left this morning in continuation of her voyage to Pacific Coast ports. She loads on the Pacific Coast next month for Papeete, Auckland, Wellington, Melbourne and Sydney. WAITEMATA LEAVES SAN FRANCISCO. —The Union Company has been notified by cable that the steamer Waitemata sailed from San Francisco yesterday morning with general cargo for discharge at Auckland, Napier, Wellington, MelboLirne and Sydney. She is due here about July 18. ATHENIC DELAYED. According to advice received by the local agents, A. S. Paterson and Company, the Shaw Savill and Albion liner Athenic has been delayed in Australia. She will now reach Wellington on July 10 from Brisbane to commence loading for Home, and will later fill .up at Napier, Waikokopu, Gisborne, Tokomaru Bay and Auckland. She is scheduled to sail finally from this port on July 30 for Southampton and London, via Panama.
PORT DUNEDIN REPORTS. A radio message received by the C. and D. Line states that the motor-ship Port Dunedin expects to arrive at Wellington on Saturday from London. The vessel is bringing cargo for discharge at Wellington, Auckland and Napier and is due here about July 3. On completion of her discharge the Port Dunedin will commence loading at Napier and then fill up at Wellington, New Plymouth, and Auckland. She is scheduled to clear this port finally toward the end of July for Genoa, Marseilles, and London via Suez. E*lD OF THE WAN AKA.— The remains of the former Union Company’s vesesl, Wanaka are to be towed out into the Hauraki Gulf to-morrow evening, where they will be si*t ten miles east of Curvier Island. If the weather is favourable the Harbour Board’s Te Awhina, will leave Auckland at 5 o’clock to-morrow evening with the hull in tow. A charge of explosive will do the work early on Saturday mornand the Wanaka will be sunk in 100 fathoms of water.
HAURAKI SAILS. —In continuation of her voyage from Pacific Coast ports, the Union Company's motor-ship Hauraki left Auckland last evening for Melbourne, Adelaide, and Sydney. SYDNEY STEAMERS.— The Union Company advises that the passenger steamer Marama will leave Auckland at 3 p.m. to-morrow for Sydney, and the Maheno will clear Wellington at noon to-morrow for the same port. Both vessels are due at the New South Wales port next Tuesday. TAMAROA'S AGENTS. —A. S. Paterson and Company advise that they will be the agents for the Shaw, Savill and Albion liner Tamaroa, which left Southampton last Friday for Wellington and Auckland. She is due at ■Wellington on July 23, and at Auckland about a week later. INSTALLING DIESEL ENGINES. —The Northern Company’s steamer, Kotiti, which has been laid up since 1921 has been bought by a Hokitika firm. She is berthed at the Parnell Wharf where her old steam engines are being taken out and Diesel engines installed. The Kotiti was a vessel of 42 tons net.
SOMERSET AT COLON. —Cabled news has been received by the New Zealand Shipping Company that the Somerset arrived at Colon on June 19 from Wellington, en route to Hull and London. She left Wellington on May 11. I K A LA AT NEWPORT NEWS.— The New Zealand Shipping Company have been notified by cable that the Ikala arrived at Newport News on June 12 from Montreal, en route to Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. TIRO A DELAYED. —Rain at Lyttelton has hampered the loading of the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company’s liner Tairoa at that port. She was expected at Wellington this morning, and will leave at daybreak on Saturday for London, via Montevideo. TUTANEKI DUE TO-DAY. From Wellington via East Coast lighthouses, the Government steamer Tutaneki (Captain Bollons) is expected at Auckland this afternoon for coal and stores. She will berth at the Central Wharf. CANADIAN PIONEER. —The local office of the Canadian Government Line have been advised that the steamer Canadian Pioneer will leave Dunedin to-morrow for Wellington and Auckland to complete her loading. She is due here on June 29 and will sail the following day for New York, Boston and Montreal yia Panama. HORORATA AT NEWPORT. —A cable message to the New Zealand Shipping Company reports that the Hororata arrived at Newport News on June 16 from London, and sailed again on June 17 for Suva, Wellington and Auckland. She is due at Wellington on July 18 and at Auckland week later. OMANA FROM NEWCASTLE.— From Newcastle, Sydney and Port Stephens, the Lamb steamer Omana is duo at Auckland this afternoon and will berth at Prince’s Wharf to land part of her cargo of coal and poles. Sho will complete her discharge at Napier. The Northern Company are the local agents. WIRRAL ARRIVING. —Due at Auckland this afternoon from New York, the A. and A. Line’s chartered steamer Wirral will berth at Prince’s Wharf to land the local portion of her cargo under the auspices of the New Zealand Shipping Company. It is hoped to dispatch the vessel from here on Saturday afternpon for Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Wanganui to put out the balance of her cargo.
