“DRUMS OF THE DESERT”

AN UNUSUAL CAST Ford Sterling has been selected for the principal comedy role in the Paramount version of Zane Greys “Drums of the Desert.” The entire picture will probably be made on location in Northern Arizona. Sterling's role in “Drums of the Desert” will be that of Perkins, sometimes known as “Painless Perkins.” a desert fakir, who bluffs his way through the story as an old-timer among the Indians. Warner Baxter will have the leading male role. Opposite him wiUl be Marietta Millner, European star. Paramount’s recent acquisition. This wdll be Miss Millner’s first Hollywood-made picture. Others in the cast are Wallace MacDonald, George Irving, Bernard Siegel, and Guy Oliver. John Water* will direct from the screen play bjf John Stone.
