TIVOLI AND EVERYBODY’S

“FATE OF A FLIRT” Four stars are at the head of the cast in the newest of the Waldorf series of Columbia productions. This is “The Fate of a Flirt,” which is at the Tivoli and Everybody’s Theatres. Dorothy Revier, the lovely young favourite, is one of the chief players. Miss Revier has done many brilliant portraitures for Columbia but this is said to be her big success. The beautiful star, whose portrait will soon be exhibited at the Sesqui-Centennial Exposition at Philadelphia, was enthusiastically praised inr pre-view notices. Along with Miss Revier is Forrest Stanley, the popular leading man, who has a unique role in the production. Mr. Stanley, often called “the man who never smiles,” has made a sensational record as a comedian under the Columbia banner. Thomas Ricketts, whose “Steppin’ Out” will never be forgotten, has a principal part. And Phillips Smalley is another name known to many thousands. Frank R. Strayer directed the story by Janet Crothers. Adolphe Menjou is seen as Satan in Paramount’s production of “Sorrows of Satan,” which is on the same programme. Ricardo Cortez, Carol Dempster and Lya de Putti complete the featured cast. “Sorrows of Satan” is a picture of contrasts. First we are taken from the Bohemian quarter to homes of wealth. Then, one is introduced to a naive youngster and a man of the world. Two women are conspicuous because of their difference. One is all that the word virtuous would seem to imply. The other is the feminine counterpart of evil. John Russell and George IJull adapted the. novel for screen use. Forrest Halsey is credited with the scenario.
