AN IMPORTANT DEAL

LIME DEPOSITS ACQUIRED BRITISH FIRM ACTIVE Press Association. WHANGAREI, Weednesday. A reliable authority states that the British Standard Portland Cement company has just completed the purchase of the whole of the limestone interests at Urquhart’s Bay possessed by the estate of the late Mr. J. J. Craig. A report furnished to the company prior to the purchase described the quality of the stone as almost perfect for the manufacture- of Portland cement. The British Standard Company already has large interests in Urquhart’s Bay and, with the recent purchase, becomes the owner of practically the whole of the high-grade deposit of limestone in that locality.
