ELECTRICITY DEAR FOR HEATING SCHOOLS
A REDUCTION ASKED FOR A suburban school last year found that school heating by electricity was costing £6 a week. At the annual meeting of delegates to the Auckland School Committees’ Association, held last night, a resolution was passed asking that the Power Board’s charge of the maximum rate for current used in schools be reduced. Mr. A. Scott said that schools should be on the same rate as households, Mr. F. W. Brinsden said that the cost of electric heating was so great in his school that it was necessary to revert to kerosene
