MILITARY TRAINING
OPPOSED BY LABOUR WOMEN At the fortnightly meeting of the Auckland Women’s branch of the Labour Party, all present determined to work their hardest in the movement for the abolition of compulsory military training. A letter promising assistance in the campaign was read from the Dunedin branch. In response to a request from a deputation from the Trades and Labour Council, three delegates were appointed to sit on the unemployment committee. On Sunday there was a large representative gathering in the Trades Hall where Messrs. W. Nash, the national secretary, and R. Semple, of Wellington, gave details of the New Zealand Labour Party’s campaign fund.
