NORTHCOTE CARNIVAL

The monthly meeting of the Northcote Ratepayers and Residents’ Association was held last night, when the Queen Carnival, which is to be held to raise funds to erect bathing sheds, was advanced a step further. It was reported that several local organisations were prepared to support the proposal. In order to place the scheme more fully before the various sports bodies, etc., it was resolved to appoint a strong deputation to attend the meetings of these clubs arid explain the position. As some residents are interested in the association who are unable to attend the meetings it was decided to admit such residents as honorary members at an annual subscription of 10s for men and 5s for women. Messrs. C. Adamson and J. R. Jones were elected new members.
