Ferry Company's New Venture

LAND TRANSPORT QUESTION AN INCREASE IN CAPITAL The annual meeting of the Devonport Steam Ferry Company was held in Devonport yesterday. The annual report and balance sheet was adopted unanimously, on the motion of the chairman, the Hon. E. W. Alison, M.L.C. The retiring director, Mr. E. M. Coleman, was re-elected. In reply to a question, the chairman stated that the new company, the North Shore company to control the land transport side of the company’s affairs, would be an entirely distinct company, though supported by the Steam Ferry Company. At a subsequent extraordinary general* meeting, the resolution was passed authorising the increase of the company’s capital from £150,000 to £250,000 by 100,000 new ordinary shares of £ 1 each
