ABOVE SUSPICION
Sir Archibald Boyd-Carpenter, Head of the motor trade delegation, had a little joke while speaking at a civic reception while referring to British motors. He described the journey from Auckland over the hills and rough roads. “We did not take the broad track which leads to destruction,” he said, “but pursued the narrow road which led to the proper place, Wellington, and I can assure you the cars in which we came were like Caesar’s wife, above suspicion.”
