BRUTAL RACONTEUR
BATTERS WIFE’S EYE PAYS PENALTY IN COURT “T HAVE to say that he’s awfully •*- brutal to me, and tells ter rible stories in front of my little girl.” Maria Scully gave this testioionv against her husband, Edward Scully, aged 46, in the Police Court this morning when Scully pleaded guilty to a charge of assaulting her. Sub-Inspector Lewin said the police had been called to the Scully home on Saturday. Mrs. Scully’s eye was blackened, and she had other injuries. Mrs. Scully bore signs on one eye of her husband’s attack, and she said that she had had two beatings last week. She had a baby in her arms when one was administered. Scully was fined £5, in default 3 0 days’ imprisonment.
