SENIOR B LEAGUE ELLERSLIE DOWNS KINGSLAND With the meeting of Ellerslie and Kingsland at Ellerslie on Saturday, t ® two leading teams in the Senior grade clashed. After a strenuous game, Ell.«r« emerged the victors by nine points five. raa Throughout the game the pace * fast and willing. The outstanding figure in the ga was L. Mattson, the diminutive EUc p ® lie half. He played a good game his defence was sound. He star \ two clever three-quarter mevewer • which resulted in Slater and LittleWC each going over to score. Kingsland's only try was scor Carter, who after a splendid run which he showed a great turn of touched down almost in front o goal posts. Herring converted. Elic " lie’s last try was scored by R* Johns » who gathered from the loose and over at the corner flag. Grogan s though good, failed. t 0 Kingsland made desperate ittor score and had Ellerslie henna their own territory for the w^o ® the second spell, and it was only * burn’s kicking that prevented JLm*land from further scoring.
