SLEDGE-HAMMER USED COUNTRY STORE ROBBED Press Association. DARGAVILLE, To-day. Some time between 5 p.m. on Fridaynight and 8 a.m. on Saturday morning Mr. M. J. Nelson’s general store at Whatoro was broken into and a heavy safe taken outside and broken open wth a sledge hammer and iron bar. The amount stolen ensists of £7 in notes. The thieves also took about 20s in cash from the till, and the ledger and cash book. The safe was damaged beyond repair. The police have the matter in hand but no arrest has yet been made.
