PONSONBY’S LOSS

Mr. George Jack, the popular goalie for the Ponsonby senior Soccer eleven, is leaving Auckland to take up a position in the country and the loss of his services will be a big blow to the blue - and - black brigade which has been showing greatly improved form lately. in front of the net the Ponies’ custodian was a sound and solid defender, who did his job in a thoroughly workmanlike fashion with-

out any frill or gallery play. On the field and off George Jack was a fine sport, and 1:o-day his clubmates marked their regrets at his departure by the presentation of a case of pipes and making high eulogies of his good sporting qualities.
