FIRE IN CITY

BOARDING HOUSE BURNED EMPTY PLACE Au unoccupied boarding house in Khyber Pass was gutted by a fire which broke out early yesterday evening. When the City Brigade arrived in response to a call at 8. p.m., the flames had a good hold, and were issuing from the windows and the roof. The blaze, which was a most spectacular one, was subdued in less than half an hour, several leads of hose being used. The cause of the fire is unknown. The house, which is known as “The Windsor,” is part of the property being acquired by the City Council for extending the Khyber Pass reservoir. Insurance are not available.
