GRETCHEN
Gretchen lives by the Zuyder Zee, Where the wonderful tulips grow, And sometimes she watches the mill’s wide sails When the ocean breezes blow; Or, sweet and shy in her wooden shoes, With her Dutch doll in her arms, Gravely she paces the cobbled street, Demure with a thousand charms.
