TELEPHONE POLES GO FROM QUEEN ST.

MORE AWAY ON MONDAY The Post and Telegraph Department is preparing to remove more of the i:otara “giants” from Queen Street. Two which have stood for many years outside the G.P.O. building will disappear on Alonday. The last of the overhead wires have been take' down and everything is in readiness for the removal. Gradually Queen Street is being cleared of the poles which carried the overhead wires for the telephones.
