COSGRAVE’S PARTY IN MINORITY
IRISH ELECTIONS DECIDED DE VALERA WAITING By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright LONDON, Wednesday. The returns from t?ie poll at the general election in the Irish Free State are now complete. The state of parties is as follows: Government 46 De Valera Parly 44 Labour 22 Farmers 11 National League 8 Sinn Fein .- 6 Independents 14 Independent Republican . 1 This leaves the Cosgrave Government in a minority of 10. The Ministry will discuss the situation in the course of the week. The Dail is to meet on June 23, when the Republican supporters of Mr. Eamonn de Valera will attend and demand the right to take their seats. They will refuse to take the oath of allegiance, however. They will therefore be refused admission. The general impression is that the de Valeraites will later take the oath in the hope that they will be able to eliminate it from the Constitution. Mr. de Valera announces his readiness to form a Government.—A. and N.Z.-Sun.
