NOTHING DEFINITE
WELLINGTON’S UNEMPLOYED WORKLESS AWAIT INFORMATION (From Our Resident Reporter.) WELLINGTON, To-day. A LARGE number of workless men hung about Parliament Buildings this morning seeking something definite from the Minister of Public Works as to immediate relief work. About 50 men are to be taken on on Monday. The Hons. K. S. Williams, O. J. Havvken and G. J. Anderson, and Mr. G. A. Troup, Mayor, are conferring to-day respecting local relief work. No further statement lias been Issued and the Public Works Department has not yet received instructions to proceed with the Tawa Flat work, although Mr. Coates advised Mr. W. H. Field. M.P., ten days ago that the work would commence within a fortnight.
