That Glen Afton railway station is a very convenient and good station to ship cattle and sheep from may be taken from the following interesting figures: —For the year ending March 31, 1927, no fewer than 11,700 sheep and 870 head of cattle (mostly fats) were railed. The present coal mining terminus serves a very large back country, and the figures are plain evidence of the growing business in that section of the Raglan County.
