ELABORATE SETS

FOR AUSTRALIAN PICTURE The most elaborate sets ever seen in an Australian motion picture studio were used to produce ‘ For the Term of His Natural Life.” The detailed interiors displayed numerous priceless tapestry panels, and antique pieces loaned by Tyrell’s, Ltd., who also furnished all historical data concerning customs and early colonial interiors. Perhaps the most coveted pieces were those used in the interior of the London home of Rufus Dawes. The set consisted of a long tapestried sofa and three chairs, the tapestry depicting the signing of Magna Charta at Runnymede, while heavy steel engraving, vast mirrors and valuable vases provided the most technically perfect settings ever used locally.
