A HOPELESS CASE

c Prom Our Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, To-day.

The frosty nights experienced in Hamilton of late have evidently had their effect on Edward Percy Hoyes, a middle-aged man, who waiked into Hamilton Police Station last night and asked to be locked up. He was informed that he would have to be charged if he wished accommodation for the night, and when he stated that he had no money and nowhere to sleep he was arrested on a charge of vagrancy. He appeared before Justices to-day and it was stated that he had six previous convictions for a similar offence. As soon as he was released he wandered aimlessly about the country. One month's imprisonment was imposed by the Bench, which described him ae a hopeless ease.
