Waikato Dairymen Get Advance of 1s 4d. —A Press message from Hamilton states that the New Zealand Cooperative Dairy Company this month will make an advance payment of Is 4d per lb on both butter and cheese.

The Argyllshire shipment at Hull make Delicious and Statesman, 16s to 18s a case; Sturmers, to 16s a case. The Tainui consignment of cool store fruit is in very good condition. The market is still steady.

MINING NEWS

MAJESTIC. —For the fortnight endirvJune 11 the manager reports: Tne contractors advanced the face a further IV feet, making 72 feet of their contract and 2,426 feet from the main crosscut. The last round taken out indicates that another change is taking place on the foot wall side of the drive; hard, solid quartz is showing. The face is about one-third clean quartz. The balance is a conglomerate of quartz and country, Vnd altogether looks promising.

KURANUI. —The manager reports: TU old battery level has been cleaned out and re-timbered for 25ft. a to* Hi of 509 ft. from surface. The level is open again for about 20ft., but requires timbering. At this point the level is all broken down again and full up with mullock. The drive east on Barry’s f has been extended sft., a total oi 159 ft. The reef here averages 12in. wide, but is split up into stringers. We cut son. * stringers of quartz in the face, v.hi, h looks like the branch the wirze was sunk on, although no gold was Tiequartz stiii j ris well, and the rock is still of a splendid kiss. am stopping this face for the pr -.sent, and putting the men on cleaning out and repairing the old battery level.
