PRINCE EDWARD
“SUMMER BACHELORS” Hale Hamilton, sauve as he was in the “Get-Rich-Quick Wallingford” days, though somewhat reformed, is one of the “Summer Bachelors” in the picture of that name which Allan Dwan has produced for Fox Films from the novel by Warner Fabian. The film is now beings shown at the Prince Edward Theatre. Mr. Hamilton created the character of Wallingford in George M. Cohan’s stage play and then took it on a world tour. Hale’s father had intended him for a lawyer. In fact, Hale finished the lawschool at the University of Kansas, in spite of the competition of college dramatics. In recent years Mr. Hamilton has been dividing his time between the stage and the screen. Just before his engagement in “Summer Bachelors,” he played the role of Sergeant Quirt for five months in the Los Angeles company of “What Price Glory.” When he came East, he played in “Tin Gods” and “The Great Gatsby” in the films. Before he had finished “Summer Bachelors,” he went into “Yellow!” the stage success.
Madge Bellamy has the featured role in “Summer Bachelors,” which is a sprightly drama, of how husbands play when their wives are away for the summer. Matt Moore, Charles Winninger, Walter Catlett, Leila Hyams, Clifford Holland and Olive Tell are in the cast.
