A TIMELY RESCUE

MINISTER SAVES HORSE (From Our Own Correspondent.) TOKAANU. Tuesday. While the Minister of Internal Affairs was travelling to Tokaanu with a party which included Mr. P. Keller, engineer of the Public Works Department, Mr. J. Hislop, Under-Secretary of Internal Affairs, Mr. F. Moorhouse, conservator of fisheries, and Mr. T. Banks, officer in charge of the Hautu Prison Camp, for the purpose of investigating troutfishing, they found a horse bogged in a deep drain. It took an hour to get the animal out, but the Minister willingly submitted to the delay.
