From the fall of Egypt and Babylon, down to the. Renaissance, man’s ideas of home furnishings altered little. If he was a great personage he had his chair, couch, table and bed. Then came the efflorescence of "period” styles. The romance of furniture will be the subject of a series of articles specially written for THE SUN. The first will appear next week on this page.
