A SMALL FIRE
TAR OVERBOILS Slight damage was done to a shop at 9a Paget Street last night, when the weather-boards on one side were ablaze through tar overboiling. The footpaih was being tarred, and when the tar caught on fire the flames spi'ead to the wall nearby The City Fire Brigade turned out at 5.9 p.m., and *oon had the outbreak well in hand. The shop, a two-storey building, is owned Messrs. E. Winter and Son, and occupied by Mr. Sim. a cabinetmaker. One side was damaged, but the rest of the house was saved. Neither the shop nor the contents was insured.
