“THE COMING OF AMOS”
The combination of cast and story in “The Coming of Amos,” the Cecil B. De Mille supervised production
which opens at the Rege n t Theatre, Epsom, to-night, makes this offering from the De Mille studio one of the banner pictures of the year. Headed by Rod La Rocque, who is starring in the title role, the list of players in this Producers’ Distributing Corporation
release is unusually brilliant. Jetta Goudal as a Russian princess in a colourful role, Noah Beery as the villain and Trixie Friganza, Richard Carle and Clarence Burton in other featured roles make up the excellent supporting cast.
The story, adapted from William J. Locke’s season’s best seller, is a melodramatic comedy, adapted by Garrett Fort and James Creelman, scenarists of recognised ability. The picture swings between tense dramatic situations and humorous incidents, with gorgeous spectacles of life on the Riviera as colourful background for the unusual story.
