Mt. Roskill Man Wins £2O Prize

SUN FOOTBALL COMPETITION OVER 25.000 ENTRIES j JNTEREST in THE SUN’S big Football Competition has grown at a tremendous rate. Last week the entries shot past the 25.000 mark a record for the competition so far. The prize of £2O goes to Mr. W. B. Tindall, of Kingston Avenue, Mount Roskill, whose coupon contained a correct forecast of all the senior A grade football matches played on Saturday. Mr. Tindall sent in the only coupon that was absolutely correct. No fewer than 25 other competitors were only one result out in their forecasts. Eleven out of the 25 failed in the drawn Soccer match between Onehunga and Tramways. Of the remaining 14, the majority “missed” in the League match, in which Ponsonby was beaten by Devonport. To the majority of the entrants, the Rugby competition gave the least difficulty. Hundreds correctly forecasted the four matches, the real stumblingblocks over which most of the competitors tripped being the two other games already referred to. The big competition has now found its way to the South, and from Wellington and other Southern towns numerous coupons arrived. The sports of the Bay of Islands have also added their quota, quite a number of entries coming from the deep-sea fishing centre.
