HIGH STANDARD OF SURGERY AT HOME
WELLINGTON DOCTOR’S VIEWS After a tour of hospitals abroad, Dr. W. J. H. Hislop, of Wellington, has returned to New Zealand with a very high opinion of the excellence of the surgical work which is being done in Great Britain at the present time. “It is very good and very skilful,” he said yesterday, “and I was impressed with the work, particularly when one has heard so much of Continental and American methods. The general standard in the hospitals of Great Britain is excellent.” Dr. Hislop did not wish to discuss the hospitals beyond making the remarks quoted above. He and Mrs. Hislop returned on the Remuera yesterday and are going on immediately to Wellington. In answer to a question the doctor said that all young medical men should endeavour to go Home for a certain amount of their training.
